1Anime — A Message from the Founder

A Personal Letter

Hey, 1Anime
we need to talk.

An honest note from the person who started all of this.

✦ Your new home for everything otaku

I never really thought I'd be writing something like this. But here I am — and I want to be honest with you, because that's always been the kind of platform we tried to be.

I'm stepping down as the owner of 1Anime. And before anyone starts to worry — the platform isn't shutting down. The community isn't going anywhere. Everything we built together? Still standing. Still yours.

This is something I'm doing for safety reasons, and for some personal stuff I'd rather keep private for now. It wasn't an easy decision — honestly, it's probably the hardest one I've had to make. But I know it's the right call, both for me and for the platform I care so much about.

“Community first” was never just a motto to slap on a banner. It was the whole reason 1Anime exists — and that doesn't change today.

Look at how far we've come

I started 1Anime with one idea: build a real home for people like us — people who love anime, manga, and everything that comes with the otaku lifestyle. Not just another streaming site. A place where you can actually watch, read, and connect — all in one place, with people who genuinely get it.

And we did that. I'm really proud of what this platform became. Here's just a taste of what we shipped along the way:

Privacy and you, as our priority.

Community Collections and real discussions

Every update, every changelog, every late night fixing something that broke — it was all for this community. I never wanted to build something I couldn't be proud of. And I am proud of it. Every version of it.

On the ads situation: I know some of you noticed them appear. For a long time, 1Anime was fully ad-free — and I was proud of that. But keeping a platform like this running isn't cheap, and ads became a necessary part of keeping things alive. It was never about profit. It was about making sure 1Anime was still here tomorrow. I hope you understand where that decision came from.

A new owner is stepping in

There's someone taking over, and no — I'm not going to say who it is yet. That's a deliberate choice, not me being mysterious for no reason. What I can tell you is that I didn't just hand this off to a random person. This is someone I trust. Someone who understands what 1Anime is about and genuinely cares about keeping it that way.

The soul of this platform — community first, always — goes with it. That's not negotiable, and whoever leads 1Anime from here knows that better than anyone.

🤝 A few familiar faces joining the team  New

Some admins and developers from HiAnime — a few of them — are coming over to join 1Anime. Not the whole crew, just a handful of people who've been in the anime streaming space for a long time and know exactly what a community like ours actually needs.

These are people who care about doing this right. Having them on board is going to make a real difference — their experience and passion align with exactly what 1Anime has always been trying to be.

To those joining — welcome. Genuinely. This community is going to love having you here.

My last wish for this community

Before I go, there's one thing I want to ask of you. If 1Anime has ever meant anything to you — if you've ever enjoyed a show here, discovered a manga, or found people who share your love for this stuff — please go show some love on EverythingMoe.

Rate 1Anime on EverythingMoe

We built something real here. Go let the world know. Rate us, leave a review, and help 1Anime get the recognition this community has always deserved. This is my last wish — make it count.

Our team isn't going anywhere.

Even with me stepping back, the team is still here — working through every issue, every report, every bug that gets flagged. They've always been the backbone of this platform. That's not stopping. If anything, with new hands and fresh energy joining the team, things are only going to get better from here. Trust the process. Trust the people.

A personal word

To the people who've been constantly complaining, spreading negativity, and acting like the team owes you instant fixes on their own time — this one's for you.

Our team works on every single issue that gets reported. Every one. They do it because they care — not because they have to, not because they're getting paid to sit around waiting for your complaints. They're real people giving real time to something they believe in.

Haters — know your limit. And if you can't handle waiting for a team that actually gives a damn about doing things right — go fuck yourself. That's my personal line, and I stand by it.

One last thing

Thank you. From the bottom of my heart, genuinely — thank you. Not in a formal, sign-off-the-email kind of way. Just as someone who put an embarrassing amount of time and love into something and got to watch it actually mean something to people.

There were moments I almost gave up. There were rough patches — outages, incidents, things going sideways in ways I didn't expect. And every single time, you all were still here. That meant more than I can really put into words.

Keep being vocal. Keep pushing the platform to be better. Keep looking out for each other. That's what made 1Anime worth building — and it's what's going to keep it worth being a part of.

Take care, everyone. 🫶

With a lot of love and even more nostalgia,

The Founder of 1Anime
